Madrid Masters: Fearnley upsets 19th seed Machac for biggest career win
The British qualifier will meet the winner of the match between Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 15 seed, and Chilean Nicolas Jarry in the next round

British qualifier Jacob Fearnley moved into the third round of the Madrid Masters by winning against No 19 seed Tomas Machac 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 at the Caja Mágica on Saturday afternoon.
This is the Brit’s first win over a top 20 ranked player and the biggest of his career so far. He is also through to the third round at an ATP Masters Series event for the first time in his career.
Fearnley, ranked No 68, will face the winner of the match between Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 15 seed, and Chilean Nicolas Jarry next.
In the previous round of the tournament, the Brit beat Chinese Yunchaokete Bu (6-3, 7-6 (2)).
