Madrid Masters: Medvedev into third round as Djere pulls out
The Russian will face Argentinian qualifier Juan Manuel Cerundolo or Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 18 seed, in the next round

Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 9 seed, advanced to the third round of the Madrid Masters after Serb Laslo Djere withdrew before the match at the Caja Mágica on Friday.
Medvedev, ranked No 10, had received a bye in the first round and will play his first match of the tournament against Argentinian qualifier Juan Manuel Cerundolo and Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 18 seed, next.
Djere, ranked No 71, won against Italian qualifier Fabio Fognini (6-2, 6-3) in the previous round of the tournament.
