Madrid Masters: Shapovalov beats Nishikori to reach third round
The 29th seed will play the winner of the match between Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 6 seed, and Italian Lorenzo Sonego in the next round

Canadian Denis Shapovalov, the No 29 seed, won against Japanese Kei Nishikori 6-1, 6-4 to reach the third round of the Madrid Masters at the Caja Mágica on Saturday.
Shapovalov, ranked No 30, will face the winner of the match between Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 6 seed, and Italian Lorenzo Sonego next.
In the previous round of the tournament, Nishikori, ranked No 64, beat Australian Aleksandar Vukic (6-4, 3-6, 6-3).
