Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 7 seed, won against Australian qualifier Bernard Tomic 6-3, 6-3 to move into the last eight of the Mallorca Open at Mallorca Country Club on Wednesday evening.

Bautista Agut, ranked No 43, will face No 3 seed Alex Michelsen next.

The 37-year-old Spaniard beat Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry (5-7, 6-3, 6-2) ahead of his victory.

In the previous round of the Mallorca tournament, Tomic, ranked No 248, won against wildcard Rinky Hijikata (3-6, 7-5, 6-2).
