Mallorca Open: Feliciano López extends Spanish farewell with brilliant win over Thompson, into quarter-finals
Feliciano López won against Jordan Thompson 7-6 (6), 1-6, 6-3 and will face German Yannick Hanfmann in the next round

Spanish wildcard Feliciano López beat Australian Jordan Thompson 7-6 (6), 1-6, 6-3 to reach the quarter-finals of the Mallorca Open at Mallorca Country Club.
Feliciano López will play German Yannick Hanfmann next.
The 41-year-old Spaniard won against Australian Max Purcell (6-3, 7-5) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Mallorca tournament, Thompson, ranked No 71, defeated Frenchman Richard Gasquet, the No 6 seed (6-3, 6-4).
