Mallorca Open: Michelsen through to last four
Alex Michelsen won against Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4, 7-6 (4) on Thursday evening and will play Frenchman Corentin Moutet in the next round
American Alex Michelsen, the No 3 seed, moved into the last four of the Mallorca Open by beating Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 7 seed, 6-4, 7-6 (4) at Mallorca Country Club on Thursday evening.
Michelsen, ranked No 33, will face Frenchman Corentin Moutet next.
In the previous round of the Mallorca tournament, the 20-year-old American won against qualifier Brandon Holt (6-4, 6-4).
Bautista Agut, ranked No 43, won against Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry (5-7, 6-3, 6-2) and Australian qualifier Bernard Tomic (6-3, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
