Frenchman Hugo Gaston edged out Argentinian qualifier Juan Manuel Cerundolo 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 to move into the second round of the Marrakech Open at Royal Tennis Club de Marrakech on Tuesday.
Gaston, ranked No 84, will play the winner of the match between Italian Luciano Darderi, the No 7 seed, and American Tristan Boyer next.
