Metz Open: Home hope Bonzi edges past Michelson to reach final

French qualifier Benjamin Bonzi edged out American Alex Michelsen, the No 8 seed, 4-6, 6-0, 7-5 to move into the final of the Metz Open at the Arènes de Metz.
Bonzi, ranked No 124, will face Cameron Norrie next.
Ahead of his victory, the Frenchman defeated Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut (7-6 (3), 6-3), Norwegian Casper Ruud, the second seed (6-4, 6-4) and qualifier Quentin Halys (6-3, 7-6 (1)).
Michelsen, ranked No 44, won against French wildcard Harold Mayot (6-3, 6-1), French wildcard Richard Gasquet (6-7 (4), 7-6 (3), 7-6 (8)) and Chinese Yunchaokete Bu (6-7 (6), 6-2, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
