Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 13 seed, recovered from a poor first set as he beat Jiri Lehecka 1-6, 7-5, 6-2 to advance to the last 16 of the Monte-Carlo Masters at the Monte-Carlo Country Club on Wednesday.
Musetti, ranked No 16, will face Italian Matteo Berrettini next.
The Italian beat Chinese qualifier Yunchaokete Bu (4-6, 7-5, 6-3) in the previous round of the Monte-Carlo tournament.
In the first round of the Monte-Carlo tournament, Lehecka, ranked No 28, defeated American Sebastian Korda (6-3, 7-6 (7)).
