Chinese Yunchaokete Bu, the No 8 seed, beat German Daniel Altmaier 7-6 (1), 6-3 to reach the second round of the Montpellier Open at the Sud de France Arena on Monday evening.
Bu, ranked No 71, will face the winner of the match between Croat Borna Coric and French qualifier Constant Lestienne next.
