American Frances Tiafoe advanced to the second round of the National Bank Open by beating Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi 6-7(6), 7-5, 6-3 on Tuesday night.
Tiafoe, ranked No 24, awaits compatriot Taylor Fritz after the No 10 seed eased past Andy Murray later on Tuesday.
