Djokovic and Alcaraz drawn in same half at Madrid Masters, Zverev leads the line-up
The 2025 Madrid Masters draw came out on Monday, April 21, notifying the participants of their potential opponents

Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz will start their 2025 Madrid Open campaign in the same half of the draw, and they could clash in the semi-finals.
Both players have received byes in the first round. Djokovic will face either Matteo Arnaldi from Italy or a qualifier in the second round, whereas Alcaraz will lock horns with the winner of the first-round battle between Belgium’s Zizou Bergs and Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka.
Djokovic and Alcaraz share an exciting rivalry that interestingly began in Madrid, with the Spaniard beating the Serb in the semi-finals during his triumphant run in 2022. Their head-to-head, however, tilts in Djokovic’s favour at the moment (5-3).
The official ATP draw of 128 participants came out on Monday, seeing world No 2 Alexander Zverev become the top seed in Jannik Sinner’s absence. Following are the top 10 seeds of the upcoming Masters 1000 event:
