Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta, the No 14 seed, edged out Canadian Denis Shapovalov 7-6 (2), 2-6, 6-4 to reach the last 16 of Paris Masters at the Accor Arena on Wednesday evening.
Carreno Busta, ranked No 14, will face the winner of the match between American Tommy Paul and Spaniard Rafael Nadal, the second seed, next.
