Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor beat Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6-2, 6-2 to reach the last 16 of Paris Masters at the Accor Arena.
Griekspoor, ranked No 23, will play the winner of the match between Serb Novak Djokovic, the top seed, and Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry next.
In the previous round of the Paris-Bercy tournament, the Dutchman edged out American Christopher Eubanks (6-7 (2), 6-3, 6-4).
Davidovich Fokina, ranked No 28, defeated American Ben Shelton, the No 15 seed (7-6 (4), 5-7, 6-3) in the previous round of the Paris-Bercy tournament.
