Queen’s: Bautista Agut moves into quarter-finals, defeating Mensik

Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut advanced to the quarter-finals of the Queen’s by edging out No 8 seed Jakub Mensik 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 on Wednesday afternoon.

The 2025 Miami Masters 1000 winner, Jakub Menšík, lost his serve twice in the third set with only 43% of first serves in, making the upset possible for the Spaniard.

Bautista Agut, ranked No 51, will play the winner of the match between Dane Holger Rune, the No 4 seed, and American qualifier Mackenzie McDonald next.

Ahead of his victory, the 37-year-old Spaniard edged out Portuguese Nuno Borges (6-7 (6), 7-5, 6-4). Mensik, ranked No 17, won against wildcard Cameron Norrie (7-6 (6), 1-6, 6-1) in the previous round of the Queen’s tournament.
