Red-hot Korda ends Tiafoe’s grass streak to reach quarter-finals at Queen’s

Sebastian Korda ended Frances Tiafoe‘s winning streak on grass as he beat his fellow American 7-6 (2), 6-3 to reach the quarter-finals of the cinch Championships at Queen’s Club in London on Wednesday evening.

Tiafoe arrived at Queen’s having won his first grass-court title in Stuttgart and broken into the top 10 for the first time but found Korda, ranked No 32, too good on the day. Korda will face No 5 seed Cameron Norrie next.

Ahead of his victory, Sebastian Korda beat Daniel Evans (6-4, 7-5).

Tiafoe, ranked No 10, defeated Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp (6-2, 6-4) in the previous round of the Queen’s Championships.
