Rome Masters: Dimitrov beaten by wildcard Passaro in round two
Francesco Passaro beat Grigor Dimitrov 7-5, 6-3 on Friday and will face the winner of the match between Argentinian qualifier Roman Andres Burruchaga and Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 23 seed, in the next round

Italian wildcard Francesco Passaro defeated Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 14 seed, 7-5, 6-3 to advance to the third round of the Rome Masters at the Foro Italico on Friday, in the first real upset of the men’s draw.
Passaro, ranked No 101, had to retire against Dimitrov at the beginning of the year at the first round of the Australian Open.
The Italian will face the winner of the match between Argentinian qualifier Roman Andres Burruchaga and Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 23 seed, next. The Italian won against qualifier Chun-Hsin Tseng (6-0, 2-6, 6-3) ahead of his victory.
He plays the Rome Masters for the fourth time of his career, the third time as a wild card.
