Tsitsipas moves into round 2 at Rotterdam, Sinner could be next

Stefanos Tsitsipas continues his fast start to 2023, improving to 13-1 on the young season with a triumph over Finn Emil Ruusuvuori 7-5, 6-1at the Rotterdam Open.
Tsitsipas, ranked No 3, will play the winner of the match between Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi and Italian Jannik Sinner next. Sinner and Bonzi will square off on Wednesday in Rotterdam, with the winner to square off against the Greek on Thursday.
At the Australian Open Tsitsipas improved to 5-1 against Sinner by taking out the Italian in an entertaining five-set battle, 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-3.
Tsitsipas overcame a slow start against Ruusuvuori on Tuesday, reeling off 10 of the final 11 games of the match from 5-3 in the opening set.
Tsitsipas cranked nine aces and saved one of two break points, and finished with 19 winners against 8 unforced errors to improve to 2-0 lifetime against the 52nd-ranked Finn.
Tsitipas was a runner-up at Rotterdam last season – he fell to Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final.
