San Diego Open: Giron moves into quarter-finals

American Marcos Giron, the No 3 seed, won against Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-4, 6-3 to move into the quarter-finals of the San Diego Open at the Barnes Tennis Centre on Thursday night.
Giron, ranked No 58, will face Australian James Duckworth, the No 7 seed, next.
In the previous round of the San Diego, Etcheverry, ranked No 89, beat qualifier Facundo Mena (7-6 (6), 6-3).
