Gael Monfils reached the semi-finals of the Stockholm Open by beating second seed Adrian Mannarino 7-5, 7-6 (3) at the Kungliga Tennishallen on Friday evening.
Monfils, who is having an excellent second half of the season in 2023 with deep runs in Washington, Toronto and Cincinnati, will face the winner of the match between Serb Laslo Djere and lucky loser Tomas Machac next.
Ahead of his victory, world No 140 Gael Monfils edged out Hungarian Marton Fucsovics (2-6, 6-2, 7-5) and won against Austrian qualifier Filip Misolic (6-4, 6-3).
Mannarino, ranked No 24, defeated Russian Roman Safiullin (6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the Stockholm tournament.
