Swiss Indoors: Top seed Rublev makes quarter-finals

Russian Andrey Rublev, the top seed, reached the last eight of the Swiss Indoors by winning against Chilean Alejandro Tabilo 7-6 (3), 6-1 at the St. Jakobshalle. in Basel on Wednesday evening.

Rublev, ranked No 7, will face the winner of the match between Swiss wildcard Stan Wawrinka and American Ben Shelton, the No 6 seed, next.

The Russian defeated Portuguese Nuno Borges (6-3, 6-2) ahead of his victory.

In the previous round of the Basel tournament, Tabilo, ranked No 21, beat Croat Marin Cilic (7-6 (4), 7-6 (2)).
