UTS Rio de Janeiro, 2026
The UTS Tour has announced the first four players for its debut South American event, UTS Rio, to be held at Maracanãzinho in Rio de Janeiro from July 16 to 18, 2026.
Francisco Cerundolo (No. 19), Cameron Norrie (No. 24), Ugo Humbert (No. 34) and Nick Kyrgios are the first confirmed participants for the tournament, which carries a total prize pool of USD 1.2 million (approximately R$ 6 million). Four additional players are yet to be announced.
The Argentinian heads into the event on the back of his strongest season to date, having gone 14-6 in 2026. His results include a fourth-round appearance at the Australian Open, a semifinal run in Santiago and the title in Buenos Aires, making him the highest-ranked South American in the field.
British No. 1 Cameron Norrie has a particular affinity with Brazil, having won the 2023 Rio Open title with a victory over Carlos Alcaraz in the final. A former world No. 8 and Masters 1000 champion at Indian Wells in 2022, Norrie is currently ranked 24th in the world. It will be his first ever appearance at UTS.
Humbert’s first trip to Brazil
French left-hander Ugo Humbert will be making his first career appearance in Brazil. The world No. 34 reached a career-high ranking of No. 13 in 2025 and holds seven ATP titles. He is no stranger to UTS, having reached the final at UTS Frankfurt in 2024, where he lost to Ben Shelton.
Australian Nick Kyrgios, a former world No. 13 and 2022 Wimbledon finalist, returns to competition after missing the entire 2025 season through injury. He is currently in preparation for the 2026 grass court season.
UTS Rio will be the second stage of the 2026 UTS season, following the opening event held in Nîmes, France. The French stage was won by Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime (No. 7), who defeated Casper Ruud (No. 12) in the final to lead the overall UTS Rankings. Ugo Humbert also featured in Nîmes, falling at the quarter-final stage to Alexandr Bublik (No. 11) by 3-2.
Format and broadcast
UTS uses a unique format in which eight players compete across a single stage event for a “winner takes all” prize, with results also counting toward the UTS Rankings. All matches will be broadcast in Brazil by Grupo Globo, via SporTV and GETV.
