Alert: Medvedev upsets Alcaraz in US Open semi-finals
It will be Novak Djokovic vs Daniil Medvedev in the US Open final after Medvedev ousted Carlos Alcaraz in four sets on Friday.

Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 3 seed, advanced to the final of the US Open by beating Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, 7-6 (3), 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York on Friday night.
Medvedev, ranked No 3, will play Serbia’s Novak Djokovic, the second seed, next.
The Russian won against Hungarian Attila Balazs (6-1, 6-1, 6-0), Australian Christopher O’Connell (6-2, 6-2, 6-7 (6), 6-2), Argentinian Sebastian Baez (6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (6)), Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 13 seed (2-6, 6-4, 6-1, 6-2) and No 8 seed Andrey Rublev (6-4, 6-3, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Alcaraz, ranked No 1, won against German Dominik Koepfer (6-2, 3-2 ret.), South African Lloyd Harris (6-3, 6-1, 7-6 (4)), No 26 seed Daniel Evans (6-2, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3), Italian Matteo Arnaldi (6-3, 6-3, 6-4) and German Alexander Zverev, the No 12 seed (6-3, 6-2, 6-4).
