Schwartzman overcomes Bublik in straight quarters
Argentinian grabs confident win to take top spot in Group A on his debut in UTS4

Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman got his UTS4 campaign off to a flying start on Monday after a straight-quarters win over Kazakshtan’s Alexander Bublik, aka The Bublik Enemy.
With both players making their UTS debut, Schwartzman won a close first quarter 15-14, winning the deciding point to go up 1-0.
In the second quarter, the Argentine completely dominated the proceedings as Bublik’s game and concentration seemed to dessert him. World No 10 Schwartzman romped to a 20-10 win, to go up 2-0 in quarters.
At the end of the second quarter, during his interview with the commentators, Bublik admitted to struggling with the one-serve format of the UTS, one of many innovations for UTS4.
In the third quarter, Schwartzman once again proved his dominance, winning it 18-13 to complete the victory, with no need to play the fourth and final quarter.
Not only did the fans get to watch some entertaining tennis but also got some rare insights into the tennis players, that would not otherwise get exposed during their matches on the regular professional circuit.
Bublik was heard asking for some champagne during his interview between quarters, while Schwartzman got a chance to show off some of his smooth dance moves. The Argentine is known to be among the best dancers on the tour, which he himself admitted to.
Schwartzman leads Group A due to superior points difference
Schwartzman and Cristian Garin both currently have one win each in Group A. Although both players have a 3-2 win-loss record when it comes to quarters, the Argentine stands on top of the group due to a superior points difference (+16) as compared to Garin (+19).
