Wimbledon: Bouzas Maneiro defeats Gauff-conqueror Yastremska to reach fourth round

Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro reached the last 16 of Wimbledon by beating Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Saturday.

Bouzas Maneiro, ranked No 62, will play Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 19 seed, next.

Earlier in the tournament, the 22-year-old Spaniard benefited from the abandonment of German qualifier Ella Seidel (6-3, 3-2) and won against American Sofia Kenin, the No 28 seed (6-1, 7-6 (4)).

Yastremska, ranked No 42, defeated American Coco Gauff, the second seed (7-6 (3), 6-1) and edged out Russian qualifier Anastasia Zakharova (5-7, 7-5, 7-6 (8)) in the previous rounds of The Championships.
