Wimbledon: Ostapenko books spot in third round

Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the No 12 seed, moved into the third round of Wimbledon by winning against Belgian qualifier Yanina Wickmayer 6-2, 6-2 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Wednesday.

Ostapenko, ranked No 17, will play the winner of the match between Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto and Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu next.

In the previous round, the Latvian beat Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin (6-4, 6-4).

Yanina Wickmayer defeated Chinese Lin Zhu (6-4, 6-2) in the first round.
