Wimbledon: Rublev reaches third round, takes out Karatsev

No 7 seed Andrey Rublev advanced to the third round of Wimbledon by edging out Aslan Karatsev 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Thursday afternoon.

Rublev, ranked No 7, will play the winner of the match between Chilean qualifier Tomas Barrios Vera and Belgian wildcard David Goffin next.

In the previous round of The Championships, Andrey Rublev beat Australian Max Purcell (6-3, 7-5, 6-4).

Karatsev, ranked No 50, edged out Frenchman Luca Van Assche (6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-2, 6-4) in the previous round of The Championships.
