Rybakina to meet Martic in Wimbledon fourth round

Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 17 seed, moved into the last 16 of Wimbledon by defeating Chinese Qinwen Zheng 7-6 (4), 7-5 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Saturday.

Rybakina, ranked No 23, will play Croatian Petra Martic, who upset the No 8 seed Jessica Pegula 6-2, 7-6 in another third round encounter.

This was Rybakina’s third consecutive win in straight sets , having defeated American lucky loser Coco Vandeweghe (7-6 (2), 7-5) and Canadian Bianca Andreescu (6-4, 7-6 (5)) earlier in the tournament.

This is the second consecutive year that Rybakina has reached the fourth round at Wimbledon.
