Alert – Strasbourg Open: Rybakina wins the trophy

Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 4 seed, lifted the Strasbourg Open trophy by defeating Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 8 seed, 6-1, 6-7 (2), 6-1 at the Tennis Club de Strasbourg on Saturday.
Ahead of her victory, Rybakina, ranked No 12, beat Chinese Xinyu Wang (6-1, 6-3), Pole Magda Linette (7-5, 6-3) and Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 9 seed (7-6 (7), 1-6, 6-2).
Samsonova, ranked No 19, beat Linda Noskova (6-1, 7-5), French wildcard Diane Parry (6-4, 6-4), Spaniard Paula Badosa, the No 3 seed (6-4, 3-6, 6-4) and American Danielle Collins (6-4, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Strasbourg tournament.
