Andorra Open: Ponchet moves into quarter-finals, faces Watson next

France’s Jessika Ponchet edged out compatriot Elsa Jacquemot 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4) to move into the quarter-finals of the Andorra Open at Polideportivo de Andorra in Andorre on Thursday.
Ponchet, ranked No 124 in the world, will face British woman Heather Watson next.
Ahead of her win today, Ponchet edged out Tereza Martincova (6-4, 1-6, 7-5).
Jacquemot, ranked No 162, won against Swede Rebecca Peterson, the No 5 seed (6-2, 4-6, 6-3) in the previous round of the Andorra tournament.
