Argentina Open: Kasintseva books spot in quarter-finals

Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva defeated Ann Li 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 on Thursday. She’ll face Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle in the next round

Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva moved into the quarter-finals of the Argentina Open by beating American Ann Li 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 at Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club on Thursday afternoon.

Kasintseva, ranked No 121, will play Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle next.

The 17-year-old Andorran won against Argentinian wildcard Chiara Di Genova (6-0, 6-2) in the previous round.

In the first round, Li, ranked No 138, defeated Hungarian Reka Luca Jani, the No 7 seed (7-5, 6-0).
