Czech Linda Fruhvirtova advanced to the last 16 of the Birmingham Classic by defeating Ukrainian wildcard Elina Svitolina 6-2, 6-0 at Edgbaston Priory Club on Monday.
Fruhvirtova, ranked No 57, will play American Bernarda Pera, the No 6 seed, next.
