Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 9 seed, edged out Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska, the No 30 seed, 5-7, 6-2, 7-5 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Canadian Open at the IGA Stadium in Montreal on Saturday evening.
Rybakina, ranked No 12, will face Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, the No 24 seed, next. Kostyuk won against American McCartney Kessler, the No 28 seed, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3, in the opening match of the day.
