Cancun Tennis Open: Arango breezes past qualifier Brastine to win the title

Colombian Emiliana Arango beat Canadian qualifier Carson Branstine 6-2, 6-1 to win the Cancun Tennis Open trophy on Sunday night.
Earlier in the tournament, Arango, ranked No 169, defeated American qualifier Whitney Osuigwe (6-4, 6-4), Canadian Marina Stakusic, the No 4 seed (6-4, 7-6), French lucky loser Selena Janicijevic (6-1, 7-5) and No 8 seed Francesca Jones (3-6, 6-1, 7-5).
Branstine, ranked No 272, beat Japanese Ena Shibahara, the No 6 seed (6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (2)), American qualifier Lauren Davis (7-6 (4), 6-2), Pole Katarzyna Kawa (6-0, 6-3) and Australian Maya Joint, the No 3 seed (6-2, 6-3) in the previous rounds.
