France’s Caroline Garcia, who ended the year by winning the biggest title of her career at the season-ending WTA Finals, will work with Argentine Juan Pablo Guzman as her coach for the 2023 season, according to a report published by L’Equipe on Wednesday

Guzman was on hand in Fort Worth, Texas as Garcia’s interim coach after she parted ways with Perret, whom she had been working since at the beginning of the season, days before the prestigious event.

Caroline Garcia is yet to confirm the news, but it does seem reliable as the Frenchwoman was passing through the headquarters of the sports daily, according to a photo published by Garcia on Tuesday with the Ballon d’Or France Football in her hands.

The 28-year-old Frenchwoman enjoyed her best season on tour in 2022, winning the eight-woman season finale and reaching her first Grand Slam singles semi-final at the US Open.

She now heads into the new season as one of the most in-form players with the potential of being a Grand Slam winner.

Garcia has been training hard during the off-season and will continue the same in Dubai where she will also play an exhibition event (along with Iga Swiatek, Paula Badosa and Elena Rybakina). She will begin her season by playing for France at the inaugural edition of the United Cup in Australia.
