Charleston Open: Kenin upsets Kasatkina to make last eight
The American will play Russian Anna Kalinskaya, the No 14 seed, in the next round

American Sofia Kenin reached the quarter-finals of the Charleston Open by winning against Australian Daria Kasatkina, the No 5 seed, 6-3, 7-6 (7) at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Thursday.
Kenin, ranked No 44 and a former Australian Open champion, will play Russian Anna Kalinskaya, the No 14 seed, next.
Ahead of her win today, the American defeated Bernarda Pera (6-3, 6-4) and Swiss Belinda Bencic, the No 17 seed (6-0, 6-3).
Kasatkina, ranked No 12 and playing for the first time under the Australian flag, beat American wildcard Lauren Davis (6-1, 6-1) in the previous round of the tournament.
