Italian Sara Errani beat German Tatjana Maria, the second seed, 6-0, 6-1 to reach the last eight of the Cluj-Napoca Open at the BT Arena.
Errani, ranked No 98, will play the winner of the match between Colombian Camila Osorio and Karolina Pliskova next.
In the previous round of the Cluj-Napoca tournament, the 36-year-old Italian won against American Catherine McNally (6-2, 6-4).
Maria, ranked No 49, won against Chinese Zhuoxuan Bai (7-5, 6-3) in the previous round of the Cluj-Napoca tournament.
