Swiss Ylena In-Albon won against Belgian Magali Kempen 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-1 to reach the last eight of the Firenze Ladies Open on Thursday.
In-Albon, ranked No 132, will play the winner of the match between Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 4 seed, and Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska next.
Ahead of her victory, the Swiss defeated Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, the No 7 seed (7-6 (11), 6-3).
