Burrage, ranked No 101, will play Moyuka Uchijima next.
Ahead of her victory, Jodie Burrage won against Russian Diana Shnaider, the No 5 seed (6-4, 6-2).
Day, ranked No 96, defeated Canadian wildcard Carol Zhao (6-2, 6-4) in the previous round.
