Belarusian qualifier Iryna Shymanovich reached the last 16 of the Golden Gate Open at Stanford by winning against Heather Watson 6-2, 6-4 on Monday evening.

Shymanovich, ranked No 172, will play Montenegrin Danka Kovinic, the No 8 seed, next.
