Ekaterina Alexandrova defeated Magdalena Frech 7-6 (4), 7-6 (8) on Tuesday evening and will face the winner of the match between lucky loser Sachia Vickery and Caroline Dolehide in the next round

Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 8 seed, won against Pole Magdalena Frech 7-6 (4), 7-6 (8) to reach the last 16 of the Guadalajara Open Akron on Tuesday evening.
Alexandrova, ranked No 20, will play the winner of the match between lucky loser Sachia Vickery and Caroline Dolehide next.
In the previous round, Frech, ranked No 66, beat Colombian Camila Osorio (6-1, 6-2).
