Emma Navarro won against No 4 seed Madison Keys 6-2, 7-6 (5) to reach the last 16 of the Guadalajara Open Akron on Wednesday night.
Navarro, ranked No 49, will play Canadian Leylah Fernandez next.
In the previous round, Emma Navarro defeated qualifier Maria Mateas (6-0, 6-4).
