Hobart International: Joint upsets Linette to reach first WTA quarter-final
The Australian will face American wildcard Sofia Kenin in the next round

Australian wildcard Maya Joint defeated Pole Magda Linette, the No 4 seed, 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Hobart International on Wednesday.
Joint, ranked No 118, will play American wildcard Sofia Kenin in her first WTA Tour-level quarter-final at the Hobart’s Domain Tennis Centre.
The 18-year-old Australian won against Serb Olga Danilovic (6-2, 6-3) ahead of her win today.
In the previous round of the tournament, Linette, ranked No 38, edged out Frenchwoman Varvara Gracheva (6-3, 3-6, 6-4).
