Hong Kong Open: Shnaider books spot in quarter-finals

Russian Diana Shnaider, the top seed, reached the last eight of the Hong Kong Open by winning against Australian Priscilla Hon 6-4, 6-1 at Victoria Park, Causeway Bay on Wednesday.
Shnaider, ranked No 14, will play the winner of the match between Dutchwoman Suzan Lamens and Spaniard Cristina Bucsa, the No 8 seed, next.
The 20-year-old Russian beat Japanese qualifier Kyoka Okamura (6-3, 6-3) in the previous round of the Hong Kong tournament.
In the previous round of the Hong Kong tournament, Hon, ranked No 210, won against wildcard Eudice Wong Chong (6-3, 6-4).
