Czech Katerina Siniakova reached the second round of the Hungarian Grand Prix when Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina, the No 4 seed, retired on Wednesday at Római Tennis Academy in Budapest.
Siniakova, ranked No 93, led 6-3 when Kalinina, ranked No 39, pulled out at Római Tennis Academy in Budapest on Wednesday.
The Czech will play Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto next.
