No 7 seed Irina-Camelia Begu beat second seed Jaqueline Cristian 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the final of the Iasi Open at the Ciric Sports Base on Saturday evening.
Begu, ranked No 110, will face Swiss Jil Teichmann, the No 6 seed, next.
Irina-Camelia Begu won against Czech qualifier Anna Siskova (6-2, 3-6, 7-5), Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva (3-6, 6-3, 6-3) and Japanese Nao Hibino (6-1, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Iasi tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Cristian, ranked No 51, won against Hungarian Panna Udvardy (6-3, 6-4), Croat Jana Fett (4-1 ret.) and Russian qualifier Daria Lodikova (6-1, 6-4).
