Italian Open: Svitolina continues impressive form by defeating Collins

Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, the No 16 seed, won against American Danielle Collins, the No 29 seed, 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the last 8 of the Italian Open at the Foro Italico in Roma on Monday.
Svitolina, ranked No 14, will face American Peyton Stearns next.
Ahead of her victory, the Ukrainian defeated Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro (6-4, 7-6 (2)) and edged out American qualifier Hailey Baptiste (6-4, 3-6, 6-4).
Collins, ranked No 35, won against Romanian qualifier Elena-Gabriela Ruse (6-3, 6-3) and Pole Iga Swiatek, the second seed (6-1, 7-5) in the previous rounds of the Rome tournament.
