Romanian lucky loser Elena-Gabriela Ruse defeated Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz 6-2, 6-1 to advance to the second round of the La Bisbal d’Emporda Open at the Club Esportiu CT La Bisbal in La Bisbal d’Emporda on Tuesday.

Ruse, ranked No 168, will face the winner of the match between Serb Olga Danilovic and Latvian Darja Semenistaja, the No 8 seed, next.
