Hungarian Panna Udvardy, the second seed, defeated Pole Maja Chwalinska 6-3, 7-6 (2) to reach the final of the lasi Open at Baza Sportivă Ciric in lasi on Saturday afternoon.
Udvardy, ranked No 93, will face Romanian Ana Bogdan, the No 3 seed, next.
The Hungarian didn’t lose a set this week in Iasi. She won against Greek Despina Papamichail (6-3, 7-5), Reka Luca Jani (6-0, 7-6 (6)) and Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic, the No 6 seed (6-1, 6-2) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, Chwalinska, ranked No 160, won against Bosnian Dea Herdzelas (6-2, 6-1), Serb Olga Danilovic, the No 4 seed (7-6 (4), 6-4) and Spaniard Rebeka Masarova (6-3, 4-6, 6-2).
