Pole Magdalena Frech advanced to the last 16 of the Les Championnats Banque Nationale de Granby by defeating Montenegrin Danka Kovinic 7-6 (3), 6-2 on Sunday night.
Frech, ranked No 105, will face the winner of the match between Russian Daria Kasatkina, the top seed, and Belgian Greet Minnen next.
